Thursday 28 May saw the sixth event of the cultural series GIOVEdìBRUNELLO, devoted to one of the most fascinating and controversial themes in music history: "Mozart and Salieri between myth and reality".
The evening was preceded by an unexpected meteorological twist. Around 8:00 pm the sky over Brunello suddenly darkened, accompanied by strong gusts of wind that seemed to foretell the arrival of a violent storm. A situation that inevitably discouraged many people from leaving home and reaching the Multi-purpose Hall on via Pret.
The announced storm, however, never arrived. And those who had the nerve to brave the weather and take part in the meeting were rewarded with an evening of great cultural and human interest.

Opening the event, as usual, was the President of ARTandCHARITY O.D.V., Giovanni Tommasi, who greeted those present, thanking them for their participation and for supporting the association’s initiatives.
The evening’s protagonist was once again Maestro Davide Cervi, who with his usual expertise, clarity of presentation and engaging storytelling guided the audience in discovering the complex relationship between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri.
A journey that made it possible to distinguish historical reality from the many legends that over the centuries have fueled one of the most famous “mysteries” in music history.
Through documents, accounts and historical curiosities, Maestro Cervi showed how many widely held beliefs in the collective imagination are in fact the result of later interpretations, restoring to the two composers their authentic role in European musical history.
At the end of the presentation, there was no shortage of questions from the audience, which the speaker answered with his usual precision and helpfulness, creating an interesting moment of discussion and deeper insight.
The evening ended with thanks to the participants and with the appointment for the final meeting of the series, scheduled for Thursday 4 June at 9:00 pm at the Multi-purpose Hall in Brunello.
The evening’s guest will be Dr. Francesco Baggio, who will take the audience on a fascinating journey to discover sundials and solar clocks, ancient instruments that for centuries helped people measure time by observing the Sun’s movement.
ARTandCHARITY O.D.V. reminds everyone that the donations collected during the meetings are intended to support the association’s social projects and, in particular, the “Dopo di Noi” project, which supports young people with disabilities on paths of independence and personal growth.
We look forward to seeing you for the final event of this edition of GIOVEdìBRUNELLO.
